What happens when a luxury fashion and perfume brand does afternoon tea? Well, now you can find out because Givenchy has teamed up with The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong, to put on their I Believe in Pink Afternoon Tea event.
– Running from the beginning of February to the end of March, this is the first event of its kind for Givenchy. All part of the launch of the brand’s new Le Rose Perfecto lipstick collection and the theme of the event, as the name suggests, have a spectacular pink colour.
– Apart from the glamour of the event, there is a wide selection of teas to choose from here. Look out for the Sakura (Japanese cherry blossom tea) which is an interesting choice, though perhaps a little sweet for some palates, particularly given the sweetness of some of the accompanying cakes.
– These are all in keeping with the theme and include carefully layered sponge cakes of pink, white and red as well as dainty mooncakes with a charming lip motif. Thanks to the handiwork of Executive Pastry Chef Richard Long, the cakes are topped with the Givenchy’s iconic logo!
– The finishing touch is provided by the exceptional views of Victoria Harbour from The Ritz-Carlton’s Café 103 (so called because it is situated on floor 103) — a delightfully civilised way to spend an afternoon.
