A SYMPHONY IN A BOTTLE
Wine is like a child and requires plenty of care and attention. The better you nurture your wine the better it will ultimately taste when you open the bottle. Of course, every good wine depends on terroir and the conditions of the production area, but there’s always a hero behind the scenes too — the winemaker.

- Christopher Carpenter started his winemaking career in 1998. He specializes in winemaking at a number of wineries in the famous wine-producing region of Napa Valley,
- including several California wine brands such as Lokoya, Cardinale and Mt. Brave.
- His wines are award-winning. Chris has earned ten 100-point scores from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate and Wine Enthusiast for Lokoya and Cardinale, establishing his reputation for making world-class, age-worthy wines.
- When Chris visited Hong Kong he shared why he was so fascinated by the work of winemaking.
“Every year, forget the success
Star winemaker Christopher Carpenter
of the past and start over;
find better ways to overcome
difficulties and challenges
and make yourself better.”
- Chris seems to have winemaking in his genes. Listening to his winemaking story you can feel his passion for his career. After talking to Chris, you realise that there’s more to appreciating a glass of red wine than watching it being poured, swirling it around the glass and savouring each sip — you can also catch a glimpse of the ideas, craftsmanship and philosophy of the winemaker.
