Lunar New Year is the most important festival for this part of the world. Of course, a delicious New Year’s dinner can not be casual and must be spectacular. In the Year of the Pig, the Holiday Inn’s Golden Mile Chinese Restaurant has prepared a variety of Chinese New Year dishes for its guests, as well as a selection of New Year’s Eve snacks, symbolising the Pig’s great fortunes for the coming year ahead.

  • Located in Tsim Sha Tsui, the heart of Hong Kong, Loong Yuen Cantonese Restaurant is renowned for its exquisite Cantonese cuisine. It has won the Gold Award for the “Dinner Group” awarded by the Hong Kong Tourism Board and the Gold Medal for the “Fried Rice Group”. The restaurant is decorated with magnificent traditions designs, and it is rich in Chinese elegance. Traditional paintings and handicrafts are placed in every corner. The two large fish tanks in the center of the restaurant reflect against each other, and there is a huge array of fresh seafood for the diners to choose from. Loong yuan’s premier signature dishes include shrimp, Australian abalone, and the award-winning Lamma Island shrimp fried rice. The rice is known for being salty, and it is popular among diners who often return because its big draw.
  • There are three options for dining at Loong Yuen, and all dishes are carefully crafted and are linked with names to represent good luck and auspicious signs. Special dishes include roasted pig’s knuckle, Deep-fried shrimp paste ball with vegetables, roasted crispy chicken, braised superior bird’s nest soup with diced seafood, roasted suckling pig stuffed with turmeric rice, baked half-shell boston lobster with herbs, braised dried seafood platter, pan-fried rice vermicelli with assorted seafood and eggs and double-boiled snow fungus with papaya, and sweetened walnut cream with glutinous dumpling.

Including braised abalone and goose in oyster sauce, braised abalone (6 heads) and asparagus in oyster sauce, braised sea cucumber with goose feet in oyster sauce, and braised fish and whole black mushroom in abalone sauce. Highly recommend is the braised abalone with assorted seafood served in a clay pot. In addition, Loong Yuen’s traditional hand-made snacks are also well known throughout Hong Kong.
