THE NEXT AVIATION REVOLUTION
Founded in 1945, Le Groupe Dassault is the second largest aerospace company in France.
For a plane to fly well, it must be beautiful.
— Marcel Dassault, founder of Dassault Aviation
As the second largest aerospace company in France, Dassault Aircraft (Le Groupe Dassault) was originally one of the leading military aircraft manufacturers in the world. In the 1960s, the Dassault Group began to invest in the high-end business jet segment with their new Falcon business jet series, archiving an impressive initial success.
Marcel Dassault, the late founder of Le Groupe Dassault, once said, “For a plane to fly well, it must be beautiful. Having an aesthetic and aerodynamic shape that allows smooth air flow around the plane is essential to flying.”
Upholding the noble principles from its founder, Dassault’s aircrafts are elegant looking, of high-performance and cleverly designed. However, unlike other aircraft companies such as Boeing or Airbus, Dassault is not a household name. Their current chairman, Laurent Dassault, explained: “Like many ancient families in Europe, we keep a low-key profile as we want to make our products famous, not our family.”
Founded in 1945, Le Groupe Dassault is the second largest aerospace company in France.
A low-key profile is perhaps another kind of fame. Recently, the Dassault Group debuted a new member to the Falcon business jet family, the Dassault Falcon 8X. Replacing the 7X, who has always been the best-selling business jet in Dassault’s flagship products, the latest Falcon 8X can fly you farther, in greater comfort, and with even more efficiency.
Being a bigger business jet, Dassault Falcon 8X has the longest cabin in the Falcon family. Its cabin is 13 meters long and 1.09 meters longer than the 7X, while this extra 1 meter of space may seem insignificant, it can accommodate a lot more living space, such as adding crew rest provisions, a shower aft and a mini kitchen. With over 30 possible layouts tailor-made to your personal taste and typical mission profile, this is the industry’s most flexible cabin.
The Dassault Falcon 8X cabin can accommodate 12 to 19 people and is equipped with the latest FalconCabin HD+ cabin management system. Passengers can control the cabin temperature through iPhone or iPad at any location, or track the flight progress and call up a virtual moving map of any nearby area. Passengers also have an option to get Skybox, the wireless media server with vast iTunes video and music capacity.
In terms of performance, the Falcon 8X enjoys a tri-jet advantage, with enhanced Pratt & Whitney Canada turbofans delivering 5% more thrust, yet lowering fuel consumption and. reducing NOx emissions 30% below today’s most stringent standards, which is very environmentally friendly. The Falcon 8X cockpit also features a new generation of EASY flight deck and offers an optional wide-screen head-up display, integrating enhanced and synthetic vision for vastly improved vision in lowvisibility conditions such as dense fog and cloudy, reducing the landing risks.
Le Groupe Dassault recently launched a new business jet, The Falcon 8X, which is like the 7X but of improved performance.
04 Its cabin — the longest in the Falcon family — provides more comfort and a stunning choice of more than 30 distinct layouts. 05 The modern and elegant design of the Falcon 8X cabin serves best as a private business jet.
