VEGETARIAN RESTAURANT BY RENOWNED AUSTRALIAN CHEF
As many believe that vegetarian food is essential in healthy living, a flagship vegetarian restaurant VEDA has recently opened in Ovolo Central on Arbuthnot Road, Central. Designed by renowned chef Hetty McKinnon, every dish uses fresh and top-quality ingredients, fully reflectting the chef’s
enthusiasm and love for cooking.
“Each dish is made with fresh and superior
ingredients, which fully reflects the chef’s enthusiasm and love for cooking.”
- VEDA, originated from the word “vid” in Sanskrit, means “knowledge”, representing the knowledge and wisdom on Chinese and Western culture and ingredients. Ovolo Hotels Group’s Chairman and CEO Girish Jhunj hnuwala expressed that “it’s great to open a vegetarian restaurant in the heart of Hong Kong, and believe that the taste of chef Hetty’s dishes will soon make VEDA the gathering place for the foodies.”
- Hetty McKinnon is both a chef and food writer. She opened a restaurant, Arthur Street Kitchen, in Sydney that practices the simple concept of “bringing local cuisine to local residents”. With her creativity, she made delicious salads rich in flavor, and delivered them by bicycle in person. Later in 2015, Hetty moved to Brooklyn, New York with her family and her restaurant. She started hosting events and banquets, cooperated with locals to establish the Brooklyn culinary workshop “Neighborhood Studio”, published the multicultural food magazine “Peddler”, and regularly wrote articles for the Guardian’s vegetarian column.
